Neurodiversity Coaching for Parents
Professional support for parents of kids with ADHD and Autism is lacking—I can help.
I partner with parents and guardians of kids who are newly diagnosed with ADHD or Autism, and transitioning to middle school, high school or college.
I understand the needs of families with newly diagnosed children, and provide support, psychoeducation and tools to help your children manage their symptoms.
My main focus is to educate parents and guardians while valuing your child, giving the child a voice that may not be easily audible, and affirming the identity of the child, while mutually working towards a goal of educational attainment, organization, homeworking systems, transition and motivation.
“Before discovering Monica's parent coaching, we felt lost and out of ideas. Our autistic daughter has struggled with severe school aversion since kindergarten, and despite countless meetings with her providers, something was always missing. While her providers genuinely care and want the best for her, we realized we needed someone who could also understand things from a parent’s perspective.
That’s when we found Monica. We had never considered parent coaching before, but it has been a game-changer for our family. Monica took the time to truly understand our daughter—her strengths, joys, and challenges. She offered practical strategies to help our daughter manage her emotions at school and provided invaluable advice on how we, as parents, could adjust our approach. For example, her guidance on allowing our daughter to sit with uncomfortable emotions instead of trying to 'fix' everything immediately was transformative.
Monica is incredibly smart, empathetic, and direct in the best way. She balanced meeting our needs as parents with ensuring our daughter’s well-being, always following up on previous discussions and checking in on our progress. We saw results right away and learned so much that we could apply immediately. I wholeheartedly recommend Monica to any parent feeling overwhelmed or stuck—her coaching truly makes a difference”

Resources for neurodiverse children—school, classroom, ABA—are plenty, but there isn’t enough professional parent support.
Parents and guardians like yourself are exhausted, depleted and overstimulated. You’re managing and co-regulating strong emotions, navigating clutter-filled rooms, lack of motivation, and other commonly co-occurring conditions, such as obsessive compulsive disorder and learning disabilities.
-
My background in child development and school systems, and an appreciation of neurodiversity, inspired me to fill this gap.
I have a doctorate in educational psychology and spent six years working within school systems, supporting students of all backgrounds, including Latino and neurodivergent students.
I saw firsthand the need for parent support, and how support it can improve outcomes for neurodiverse kids.
My training in child development, learning, teaching, play therapy, cultural and social diversity position me as a well-rounded resource for those looking for well-informed support, and inform my approach to coaching.
